Residents of an Ohio metropolis are outraged about ordinances prohibiting kids from taking part in within the streets as summer season rapidly approaches.

Xenia residents sounded off in Facebook feedback Thursday after the police division posted a reminder about ordinances banning avenue play resulting from complaints about children, usually with transportable basketball hoops, taking part in within the roadways and never shifting for visitors.

The ordinances prohibit putting transportable hoops, targets, or different leisure tools on the street or on sidewalks subsequent to the road.

“If you have children, please speak with them about the dangers of playing in the street,” Xenia police wrote on Facebook.

“This is a joke,” resident Kara Estle commented. “Maybe Xenia should focus on fixing the basketball courts at parks so these kids don’t have to miss out on fun. Strip the kids of their fun and they are going to find something else to do, like cause trouble and act out because they are bored.”
