Nigel Farage provides Keir Starmer large cause to fret in bombshell new ballot | Politics | News | EUROtoday
Reform UK takes a 10-point lead over Labour in a brand new ballot in a serious increase for Nigel Farage. The survey by BMG Research places the rebel get together on 32%, up 9 factors in a month, with Sir Keir Starmer’s get together down 4 factors to 22%.
The Conservatives are in third place with 19%, whereas the Lib Dems take 13% and the Greens are on 9%. The ballot comes after Reform made sweeping features in final week’s native elections, with the Tories and Labour dealing with a pummelling.
Mr Farage informed the i newspaper: “Last week’s election result and this opinion polling shows us that the two-party system is now dead. If you vote Reform, you get Reform.”
BMG Research’s Robert Struthers added: “This is one ballot. So far, others have proven Reform’s help is rising, however not fairly to the identical extent. And as all the time, margin of error applies, so this might be an outlier.
“You can’t argue with the trend – Reform is now a serious contender.”
It comes after pollsters Find Out Now put Mr Farage’s party on 33% in a survey published yesterday.
Reform took control of 10 councils and picked up more than 600 seats in the local elections in England.
The right-wing party also gained an MP in the Runcorn and Helsby by-election, which was previously one of Labour’s safest seats.
Cabinet minister Wes Streeting admitted Reform is “an actual menace” to Labour and is being treated as a “severe opposition pressure” after the get together’s successes within the ballots.
BMG Research interviewed 1,525 British adults on-line between May 6-8.
