Israeli navy strikes killed a minimum of 60 individuals in Gaza on Thursday, Palestinian medics stated, as Donald Trump continued his Middle East tour by repeating his promise to take over the realm and “make it a freedom zone”.

Most of the victims, together with girls and youngsters, had been killed in Khan Younis in southern Gaza in airstrikes that hit houses and tents.

No humanitarian help has been delivered to Gaza since 2 March, and a worldwide starvation monitor has warned that half 1,000,000 individuals face hunger in Gaza.

In Abu Dhabi, the US president eliminated his footwear for a tour of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

He sidestepped a reporter’s query on whether or not Israel has been an impediment to peace talks in Gaza.

Instead, Trump stated: “We’re working very hard on Gaza,” which he described as “a territory of death and destruction for many years”.

He added: “I’d be proud to have the United States have it, take it, make it a freedom zone, let some good things happen.”

Sheikh Zayed, founding father of the UAE, is buried within the mosque’s important courtyard.
