Hamburg stabbing: Major police investigation underway after 12 injured in practice station knife assault | EUROtoday

At least 12 individuals are believed to have been injured in a knife assault at Hamburg station on Friday night.

Hamburg’s hearth service mentioned that six individuals sustained life-threatening accidents, whereas one other three had been significantly injured and three had slight accidents, German information company dpa reported.

Three victims are in essential situation, three are significantly injured, whereas six individuals have sustained minor accidents, based on Germany’s Bild newspaper.

Hamburg Police shared on social media that that they had arrested the suspected assailant.

They mentioned in a submit on social media platform X: “There is currently a major police operation in #Hamburg on #Hauptbahnhof !

“We are investigating the background and will provide further information here shortly.”

They adopted up with a submit to say that the suspect was arrested by police and an individual had allegedly injured a number of individuals with a knife based on preliminary findings.

Authorities did not give any info on the suspect or particulars of the assault.

The station, downtown in Germany’s second-biggest metropolis, is a significant hub for native, regional and long-distance trains.
