Nigel Farage takes brutal swipe at Boris Johnson over comeback rumours | Politics | News | EUROtoday
Nigel Farage took a brutal swipe at Boris Johnson in a significant speech in the present day. The Reform UK chief insisted that it’s “over” for the Tories as he gave a press convention in London.
He added that it’s “completely irrelevant” if Mr Johnson decides to make a comeback amid ongoing hypothesis that the charismatic former PM may return to frontline politics. The Clacton MP stated: “As for the Conservatives, I don’t think many in the media class yet really understand the extent to which they are dying as a political party.
“It’s over, it’s executed, and admittedly after the extent of betrayal that we noticed particularly for the reason that 2019 victory with the 80-seat majority they absolutely deserve all the pieces that’s occurring to them.
“As I mentioned already, they cease to be a national party. They are now an irrelevance in Scotland, an irrelevance in Wales, a complete irrelevance in the Red Wall where nobody will ever trust them again.
“Now, after all, there’s a lot discuss who the chief of the Conservative Party is perhaps, and so they change leaders fairly often. Maybe Kemi Badenoch’s not having a very nice time.
“Now there is somebody who fancies his chances. He’s been on Ozempic, he’s running marathons, I noticed a very nice new Savile Row suit the other day, perhaps he even had his teeth done, I don’t know.
“But it’s fully irrelevant whether or not Robert Jenrick turns into chief of the Conservative Party or Kemi Badenoch stays on as occasion chief.
“It’s completely irrelevant if Boris Johnson, although he’s got some pretty heavy domestic duties by the looks of it, whether he decides to return.
“They won’t be trusted once more. They don’t have any probability of successful the subsequent basic election, none in any way. And I don’t actually want to spend way more time speaking about them.
“They did sink to fourth in the opinion polls with YouGov. It is over, it is done. They’ve had a good 200 years. It is now finished.”
Mr Johnson, who led the Tories to a landslide victory within the 2019 basic election, has been on the centre of comeback hypothesis since he was pressured out in 2022.
It comes because the ex-premier welcomed his fourth child with spouse Carrie earlier this month.
