Issues have been first reported at round 8pm resulting from an electrical failure between London St Pancras and West Hampstead, with strains in each instructions blocked.
Passengers have shared pictures on X, previously often called Twitter, of their practice carriages falling into darkness with some complaining that they’d been ready to be evacuated for over three hours.
A Thameslink spokesperson stated: “If your train has come to a stand in between stations, please remain on board and do not attempt to leave the train unless directed to by a member of staff.
“We know the place you might be and we’re working to get you on the transfer once more shortly.”
