M65 drivers are going through delays after an accident closed all lanes in a single route between two junctions on the motorway. Travel alert website Inrix wrote: “M65 Westbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident from J4 A666 Earcroft Way (Darwen/Blackburn South) to J3 A674 Chorley Road (Blackburn West/Wheelton).

“Lane three of three has been closed on the Eastbound carriageway on account of the incident on accident on the Westbound carriageway.” Inrix further added: “Delays of 9 minutes on M65 Westbound between J4 A666 Earcroft Way (Darwen / Blackburn South) and J3 A674 Chorley Road (Blackburn West / Wheelton). Average velocity 10 mph.”
