In 2026, the Summit of the Group of Seven (G7) can be held in Evian (Haute-Savoie), introduced Emmanuel Macron in a video broadcast on the social community X, Tuesday, June 17. The President of the Republic made this announcement on the final day of the summit, which is held in Canada this yr.

Located on the shores of Lake Lake Geneva, Evian already welcomed such a summit in 2003. Eight nations have been then represented, since Russia had been invited to hitch the group, earlier than being excluded from it following the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The final reception in France of the G7 had taken place in Biarritz, in 2019.

The G7 brings collectively the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United States. The leaders of the European Union are invited to the summits.
