Vice President JD Vance has claimed that the United States is “not at war with Iran,” however as a substitute at conflict with the nation’s nuclear program.

“We’re not at war with Iran. We’re at war with Iran’s nuclear program,” Vance informed NBC News’s Kristen Welker whereas showing Sunday on “Meet the Press.”

Vance’s remark got here after Trump introduced Saturday that the U.S. struck three nuclear amenities in Iran, subsequently getting into the battle between Israel and Iran in a single day.

“What we did is we destroyed the Iranian nuclear program. Elsewhere within the interview, Welker requested Vance how the United States will reply if Iran retaliates in opposition to the U.S., because it has been threatening to take action.

Noting that it’ll finally be the “president’s decision,” Vance defined that “what we said to the Iranians is we do not want war with Iran; we actually want peace. But we want peace in the context of them not having a nuclear weapons program, and that’s exactly what the president accomplished last night.”
