Boy, 4, dies after headstone falls in cemetery | EUROtoday
A four-year-old boy has died after a headstone fell onto him in a cemetery in Lancashire.
Emergency companies have been referred to as to Rawtenstall Cemetery at round 1pm on Saturday afternoon following studies a headstone had fallen onto a baby.
Despite efforts to avoid wasting him, the boy died. Lancashire Police mentioned his demise is just not being handled as suspicious and that it’ll cross a file onto the HM Coronor “in due course”
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police mentioned: “We were called to Rawtenstall Cemetery at 1pm today (July 5) following reports a gravestone had fallen onto a child.
“Tragically, and regardless of the perfect efforts of the emergency companies, the boy sadly died. Our ideas are together with his family members at this devastating time.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be passed onto HM Coroner in due course.”
The cemetery, positioned on Burnley Road, caters for Catholic, Church of England, Non-Conformist and Muslim burials and at the moment holds over 21,000 burials and over round 17 acres.
There is a chapel which may seat round 40 individuals which could be employed for a small charge.
