David Lammy, stepping in for Prime Minister Kier Starmer, clashed together with his Tory reverse at PMQs at the moment in an argument over the unintended launch of a migrant from jail. Before information of the most recent unintended launch, the Shadow Defence Secretary mentioned: “The public are extremely concerned about what happened in the Kebatu case, they want to know there won’t be a repeat.

“So I’m placing to him a really clear query about his obligations. I repeat, can he reassure the House that since Kebatu was launched, no different asylum in search of offender has been unintentionally let loose of jail.”

Prior to this, Lammy told the house: “I spent 14 years in opposition and I did a hell of so much higher than he is simply completed.

“I have answered the question. Under their watch, prisons were in a mess. Suicides went up. Prison officer cut – 20,000 neighbourhood police lost.

“We’ve deported extra within the final yr than they deported within the final 5 years. I’m not going to take any lecture from the honourable gentleman.
