A charity is giving freely blankets and duvets to residents this winter after experiencing a “massive influx” of donations.

Diamond Hampers, of Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire, mentioned it had gathered a surplus of provides regardless of already distributing items to native homeless shelters and households.

The charity, which supplies meals help and different assets, mentioned it was now providing bedding to individuals who have been struggling to warmth their houses or keep heat this winter.

Lianne Simpson, its founder, mentioned: “We have collected them over a period of time and have seen a massive influx in donations.”

The charity runs three shops: The Pantry, The Attic and The Toy Chest, which opened earlier this yr.
