Ukraine ought to decide by Thursday with a view to the US peace plan – US President Trump had initially pushed for this. Now his Secretary of State Rubio is placing the deadline into perspective.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has softened the deadline for Ukraine to comply with the US peace plan. Although he want to have a conclusion by Thursday – however “whether Thursday, Friday, Wednesday or Monday of next week” is of secondary significance in view of the deaths in Ukraine. “We want it to happen soon,” he mentioned after consultations with representatives of Ukraine and European allies. “Our goal is to end the war as quickly as possible, but we need a little more time.”
