Edinburgh Airport has suspended all incoming and outgoing flights after an air visitors management outage introduced the worldwide hub to a standstill.

The IT difficulty is known to have occurred at about 08:30.

Some passengers have reported being caught in planes on the runway.

Officials stated they have been engaged on the difficulty and that passengers ought to contact their airways for updates on the state of affairs.

An Edinburgh Airport spokesman stated: “Due to an IT issue with our air traffic control provider, no flights are currently operating from Edinburgh Airport.

“Teams are engaged on the difficulty and can resolve as quickly as attainable.

“Passengers should contact their airline for the latest information on their flight.”
