A foodbank is asking for donations forward of Christmas via a reverse introduction calendar.

Tracy Gibson from the Redcar Area Foodbank stated it was “always busy at this time of year” and the arrival calendar allowed individuals to provide one thing to the local people.

Every day, the foodbank reveals on social media which merchandise it might like the general public to donate, starting from meals to Christmas treats.

Alongside the standard necessities, it will likely be asking for objects corresponding to custard, cranberry sauce and gravy.

Ms Gibson stated as an alternative of individuals getting one thing from an introduction calendar in December, it was asking them to provide one thing to the foodbank.

“We have a wee bit more treats in December, so that people can get a treat if they are struggling and need a food parcel, there’s some Christmas treats in there,” she stated.

The foodbank can also be working a small toy attraction alongside the reverse introduction calendar to assist as many households out within the space as attainable.

Ms Gibson stated the foodbank was “always busy at this time of year” regardless of Christmas, as individuals have been struggling extra financially due to elevated heating prices.
