A suspected shoplifting incident at a Walmart turned terrifying when a 21-year-old out of the blue pointed a gun at an Ohio police officer, bodycam footage reveals.

Shane Newman, 21, and Katerina Jeffrey, 23, have been detained after being accused of shoplifting at a Walmart on December 18. The scenario rapidly escalated when the 21-year-old out of the blue cocked a gun at an officer.

At the Walmart Supercenter in Canton, Ohio, the pair have been escorted into the shop’s “loss prevention office,” the place an officer patted down Newman, asking if he had “anything on him that I need to know about,” based on bodycam footage obtained by NBC News.
