Marine Le Pen, the National Rally and 11 different defendants are on trial from January 13 to February 12 by the Paris Court of Appeal within the case of alleged misappropriation of European Parliament funds. The chief of the far-right celebration was sentenced at first occasion to 4 years in jail, two of which have been closed, and 5 years of ineligibility. His candidacy for the 2027 presidential election is at stake.
