François Hollande believes that the specter of dissolution, raised by the federal government within the occasion of censorship, “makes no sense” | EUROtoday
The risk of dissolution agitated by the chief in response to the motions of censure of La France insoumise (LFI) and the National Rally (RN) “makes no sense”mentioned François Hollande on Sunday January 11, who as soon as once more encourages Sébastien Lecornu to make use of 49.3 to have the funds adopted.
“The role of a prime minister (…) it’s still about putting a little stability where there is worry”affirmed the previous President of the Republic, visitor of this system “Political Questions” on France Inter/FranceData/Le Monde.
“We must not talk about dissolution (…). Mayors who are preparing for municipal elections say to themselves: “But aren’t we going to have legislative elections interfere with municipal elections?” So it does not make any sense.”ruled the socialist deputy from Corrèze. “That’s not the way to do it. (…). We must seek stability. And to find stability, we must seek compromises”he shouted.
François Hollande pleads for the use of 49.3
The executive on Friday threatened a new dissolution in the event of government censorship, indicating that it was preparing for early legislative elections at the same time as the municipal elections in March. He was reacting in particular to the motions of censure promised by the RN and LFI to protest against the announced signing of the free trade treaty with South American Mercosur, despite France’s vote against.
Motions that Mr. Hollande will not vote for, judging them “inappropriate” : “because France voted against this agreement” as requested by the National Assembly and because the debate will begin “in the European Parliament”.
Two days before the arrival of the state budget in the Chamber, François Hollande once again invited the Prime Minister to use article 49 paragraph 3 of the Constitution, which allows him to have the text adopted but exposes it to censorship: “We know the conditions of the compromise but I think that on the budget, that is enough. It’s enough to let time pass because the French, here too, are waiting for a framework” to invest or consume, he pleaded.
Mr. Hollande, on the other hand, said he was opposed to the route of ordinances, provided for by article 47 of the fundamental text: “This is not a good procedure and it is better to go with the only one that is suitable today”on 49.3, he stressed. “The declaration he must make now, tomorrow, is to move towards a solution by the end of the month”he decided.
