Traffic has been plunged into chaos on the M1, with three crashes clogging the key roadway and inflicting delays for motorists.
The M1 in South Yorkshire was initially closed to southbound site visitors between J33 (Rotherham) and J32 (M18) following a single car collision which occurred shortly earlier than 6pm.
A second collision on the entry slip for junction J33 noticed site visitors hampered additional, closing a lane to already congested site visitors.
To make site visitors issues even worse, a 3rd accident on the M1’s northbound lanes has prompted laneway closures between junctions J19 and J20.
