On Boxing Day Mr Upham’s family confirmed he had been lost. In a statement they said: “Our household is heartbroken by the lack of our beloved member of the family Matthew Upham, who was reported lacking on Christmas morning.

“We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt thanks to the emergency services who responded, particularly the RNLI and coastguard, for their dedication, professionalism, and tireless efforts during this extremely difficult time.

“We are profoundly grateful for his or her compassion and assist. As we grieve and assist each other, we kindly ask that our household’s privateness is revered. We thank everybody for his or her understanding, kindness, and condolences.”

The identification of the 47 yr previous man stays undisclosed. Inquests are anticipated to be opened into the deaths of each males.
