The Kremlin stated on Monday that Ukraine should cede the Donbas area as a “fundamental” situation of any peace settlement, Russian state media reported. President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia will take the area in east Ukraine – of which Moscow’s forces presently management 90 % – by pressure except Kyiv offers it up in a peace deal.
