The listening to of 4 former ministers of tradition by the fee of inquiry into public broadcasting was suspended on Wednesday February 4, after a tense change between President Jérémie Patrier-Leitus (Horizons), and the rapporteur, Charles Alloncle (Hérault, Union des Droits pour la République).

It began when MP Charles Alloncle (UDR) questioned the Mediawan group and advised that Jérémie Patrier-Leitus had hyperlinks with this firm. The latter then suspended the listening to in view of what he described as“very serious charges”.

The subsequent day, the MP (Horizons) started the listening to of the Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, returning to this sequence, recalling that the hearings of the ” commission [d’enquête sur l’audiovisuel public] doi[ven]t take place in a dignified and respectful setting”.

This is not the first time that Charles Alloncle has been at the heart of controversies. While the rapporteur of the commission of inquiry on public broadcasting has already been called to order by the President of the National Assembly in December 2025, four deputies who are members of this commission asked Yaël Braun-Pivet to once again call to order the rapporteur and Ciottiste deputy Charles Alloncle.
