At Thursday’s NATO assembly in Brussels, US Secretary of State Pete Hegseth was absent, highlighting considerations about America stepping again from the alliance. European allies introduced Arctic Sentry, a brand new mission to strengthen Arctic safety amid Russian and Chinese exercise. While analysts see it largely as a rebranding of present drills, NATO hopes it’s going to reassure Donald Trump and let Europe take an even bigger position in defence.
