Nine arrests within the investigation into the dying of Quentin Deranque, the Young Guard implicated, LFI in turmoil | EUROtoday

The judicial police launched a wave of arrests on the night of Tuesday February 17, 5 days after the deadly assault on Quentin Deranque, 23, a scholar and far-right activist, severely overwhelmed on a sidewalk in Lyon. The assault happened after clashes between radical teams, on the sidelines of the convention of La France Insoumise (LFI) MEP Rima Hassan, Thursday February 12 at Sciences Po Lyon.

Nine folks – seven males and two girls – have been arrested within the Lyon area, Isère and Drôme, and positioned in police custody in Lyon, as a part of the preliminary investigation opened by the prosecution for homicide, prison conspiracy, and violence aggravated by the assembly, the usage of weapons by vacation spot, and concealment of the face.
