An Israeli navy “firing component” unintentionally struck a United Nations gasoline truck in Gaza, prompting the UN company to demand a full investigation into the incident.

The occasion, which occurred on Thursday, was confirmed by Israel’s navy on Friday.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), accountable for gasoline distribution within the territory, reported that the empty car was hit round 5 a.m. from the course of the ocean, sustaining injury however inflicting no accidents.

He added, “They should not have to do that under fire,” as he known as for an investigation.

In response to inquiries, the Israeli navy confirmed the incident occurred throughout “defensive naval activity,” stating a “firing component” had “deviated from its intended trajectory.”

While acknowledging “minor damage” to the truck, the navy didn’t specify the kind of munitions used or its supposed goal.

The navy added that the “incident was reviewed, and lessons were learned accordingly,” with out providing additional particulars. UNOPS had beforehand coordinated the gasoline truck’s motion to the Kerem Shalom crossing with Israeli authorities, underscoring the pre-approved nature of its journey.
