Rare daytime Russian assault rocks Kyiv with explosions | EUROtoday

Explosions rang out over the Ukrainian capital on Monday and AFP journalists witnessed air defence batteries heading off a barrage of Russian projectiles throughout a uncommon daytime assault on Kyiv.
Russian forces have stepped up long-range drone and missile assaults over current months, primarily focusing on vitality services.
The barrage comes as US-led efforts to carry Kyiv and Moscow to the negotiating desk seem to have been derailed by the US-Israeli warfare with Iran.

“Drone debris has fallen in the very centre of the capital city. There are no fires or casualties. The enemy attack on Kyiv continues,” Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote on social media, as extra explosions echoed over the town.
AFP journalists noticed flashes and clouds of smoke, as residents of the capital sought cowl throughout rush hour.
The Ukrainian air drive in the meantime warned of a “high-speed target” geared toward Kyiv coming from the north of the nation, which borders Russia.
In Russia, an oil depot in southern Krasnodar area caught hearth after a drone assault, native authorities reported on Monday.
There had been no accidents on the depot in the city of Labinsk, the authorities mentioned.
The area is recurrently the goal for Ukrainian drone assaults. Last week Kyiv struck an oil facility close to the city of Tikhoretsk, the Afipsky oil refinery and Port Kavkaz.
