A 15-year-old schoolboy has been hospitalised following an assault close to Sefton Park on Tuesday evening, Merseyside Police confirmed.

Officers had been known as to Croxteth Drive at round 8.40pm to stories of a boy being attacked by two individuals.

He suffered a number of wounds to his legs and head, and was rushed to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, the place he stays in steady situation.

An investigation has been launched, and the cordon stays in place whereas enquiries are carried out.
