Moscow: «Russian ship arrived in Cuba with oil and humanitarian support». Trump: «But Cuba is completed» | EUROtoday
The Russian Ministry of Transport introduced that the Russian tanker Anatoly Kolodkin, with 100 thousand tons of oil and humanitarian support on board, has arrived in Cuba. “The ship is currently waiting to be unloaded in the port of Mansas,” reads the assertion, quoted by Russian businesses.
Shortly earlier than, American President Donald Trump had declared that he had “no problem” with the tanker: “We have an oil tanker over there. We don’t mind someone loading a ship with them because they need them, they need to survive,” he told reporters as he returned to Washington. When asked if what was reported by the New York Times was true, according to which the tanker would have been allowed to reach Cuba, Trump replied: “I advised them that if a rustic desires to ship oil to Cuba proper now, I’ve no downside, whether or not it is Russia or not.”
The ship, the Anatoly Kolodkin, is under sanctions from the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom following the war in Ukraine. Experts estimate that the Russian shipment could produce about 180,000 barrels of diesel, enough to meet Cuba’s daily needs for nine or 10 days. Trump has rejected the idea that allowing the ship to reach Cuba would help Russian President Vladimir Putin. «It’s no use to him. Just loses a load of oil, that’s all. If he wants to do it, and if other countries want to do it, it doesn’t worry me too much.” And then: «It may have no influence, Cuba is completed. They have a horrible regime. They have corrupt, horrible management, and whether or not or not they get a ship of oil goes to make no distinction,” Trump concluded.
