Eight years in the past, Bohemian Rhapsody stormed the field workplace, making over $910 million worldwide.

The Freddie Mercury Queen film biopic, which was Best Picture-nominated, would go on to win 4 Oscars, together with Best Actor for Rami Malek.

Given the movie concludes with a recreation of 1985’s Live Aid efficiency, may a sequel be on the playing cards?

After all, Freddie actually stuffed his remaining six years to the brim with numerous solo tasks and three extra Queen albums.

Sir Brian shared solely with the Daily Express: “Well, don’t think we haven’t thought about it, because we have and we do. But it needs a plan, it needs a story, it needs a beginning and a middle and end, and we don’t have it at the moment. We’ve looked at various ideas. It took a long time for us to get the plan together for Bohemian Rhapsody, I’m talking a long time. Probably 12 years from the moment that we thought about doing it to the moment when he came out. But at the moment, we don’t see it, and we don’t want to half do it. We don’t want to do it until we’re utterly convinced that it’s going to be the magnificent thing that it should be. So, no, at the moment, no.”

Suggesting it may solely ever be known as The Show Must Go On, the Queen guitarist identified that it was the identify of the band’s second stage musical that by no means noticed the sunshine of day.

The 78-year-old stated: “Well, Ben Elton wrote us a sequel for the We Will Rock You, theatrical musical. And we actually got as far as workshopping it and put on a couple of performances. But it never saw the light of day, it just never got the green light due to certain disagreements within the band and the organisation.”

Asking Roger about Bohemian Rhapsody 2, it turned clear {that a} model of the sequel that has been into account takes place after Freddie’s loss of life in 1991.

The Queen drummer informed us: “[Bohemian Rhapsody 2] is not in serious conversation, it’s sort of rooted. Part of me thinks we have this one movie that was so liked, and I thought, ‘Well, we did really well with our shot. Let’s not spoil it’, because most sequels don’t live up to the original, with The Godfather as the exception. And, you know, obviously, I think it would involve having a lot of flashbacks to the Freddie character. It wouldn’t have the same immediate appeal if the film was made without his character in it. It is very difficult to pull off. So yeah, we’ve thought about it, and until somebody comes up with a very, very workable solution, it’s not on the cards.”

The first movie took 12 years; it’s solely been eight, so loads extra time to get a sequel off the bottom. After all, The Show Must Go On…
