The authentic Mudejar coffered ceilings of the San Bernardino convent in Cuenca de Campos (Valladolid, 190 inhabitants) are in a palace of media magnate William Randolph Hearst in California (United States). The new ones, wooden from a century in the past, relaxation on the ground of the previous monastery, lined in rubble, after the vaults they have been struggling to assist collapsed. The latest collapse, predicted by the neighbors and by the Rehabitar Foundation, which has tried to stop it with its scarce funds, displays the institutional neglect of heritage in depopulated areas, with frequent comparable episodes. José Luis Sainz, president of the affiliation, regrets the abandonment and that the cash promised by the Junta de Castilla y León (PP) by no means arrived.
