Dozens of firefighters are tackling an enormous blaze at a property close to a synagogue in north-west London.

Fifteen fireplace engines and round 100 firefighters have been referred to as to sort out the inferno in Cazenove Road, Stamford Hill, at 4.14pm on Thursday.

Volunteers from Shomrim, the Jewish neighbourhood watch organisation, mentioned that the hearth was “next to a synagogue” and that they have been supporting officers from Hackney police.

Members of the general public have been urged to keep away from the realm as firefighters work to convey the blaze below management.

Footage shared on-line reveals smoke billowing from a constructing whereas firefighters and members of Hatzola, the non-profit Jewish emergency medical service will also be seen on the scene.

The reason behind the hearth is at the moment unknown.

The London Fire Brigade mentioned they obtained 40 calls to report the incident and mobilised crews from Stoke Newington, Islington, Walthamstow and surrounding fireplace stations to the scene.

It comes after two Jewish males have been stabbed in Golders Green on Wednesday in a suspected terror assault.

Police tasered and arrested a 45-year-old man after the double stabbing which noticed Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Ben Baila, 76, – named domestically as Moshe Shine – taken to hospital.

Earlier, the suspect being questioned by police over the phobia assault was named as Essa Suleiman, in keeping with reviews.
