The Supreme Court has swiftly rejected a longshot request to overturn the landmark choice that legalized same-sex marriage, leaving in place a decade-old ruling that has upheld marriage equality throughout the United States.

Last week, justices met of their personal convention to determine whether or not to take up new circumstances, together with a request from Kim Davis, the previous Kentucky county clerk who infamously refused to problem a wedding license to 2 males.

She sought to overturn the landmark choice in Obergefell v Hodges. The justices denied her petition Monday.
