A brand new movie simply launched on streaming platforms is being dubbed a modern-day basic. One Battle After Another, a brand new thriller producing Oscar buzz, sees Leonardo Dicaprio as a washed-up former freedom fighter who resides off the grid along with his teenage daughter. Pat is drawn again into his outdated way of life when his daughter is kidnapped.

The genre-bending movie has parts of an motion thriller, heist film and political satire. From acclaimed director Paul Thomas Anderson, critics and followers alike have referred to as the action-packed image a completely entertaining watch. Empire Magazine went as far as to say: “In years to come, when this appears on TV late at night, it’ll be impossible to switch off. It’s just one of those films. A stone-cold, instant classic.”

Audience members have praised the movie’s “immaculate” pacing and comedic moments.

Sixteen years in the past, Pat and his associate Perfidia (Teyana Taylor) had been members of French 75, a far-left revolutionary group that stormed a US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centre and freed lots of of prisoners.

The Oscar buzz round One Battle After Another has made it an early frontrunner for Best Picture. Anderson has but to win an Oscar regardless of being nominated 11 instances. Earlier this month, the movie picked up finest image on the Gotham Awards.
