Israel’s ambassador requires extra toughness towards left-wing anti-Semitism | EUROtoday

The Israeli ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, considers left-wing anti-Semitism to be essentially the most harmful type of anti-Semitism in Germany. “In Germany there is right-wing anti-Semitism, Muslim anti-Semitism and left-wing anti-Semitism. In my view, left-wing anti-Semitism is the most dangerous,” Prosor advised the “Rheinische Post”.
“We know how to take action against fascists very well, they are open about their racism, there are laws,” stated the ambassador. “However, the people from the extreme left who legitimize and subtly spread Hamas’ ideology must be held accountable. On this point, the state is defenseless.”
Extremists felt far too secure in Europe. “They abuse freedom of expression and turn it into freedom of incitement. That’s why I’m in favor of allowing students who spread anti-Semitism and threaten their fellow students to be expelled,” stated Prosor. There is at the moment no uniform nationwide authorized foundation for such circumstances.
Prosor: Israeli artists are “accidentally” not invited
Left-wing anti-Semitism in Germany is especially widespread within the cultural and educational areas. “I know many Israeli filmmakers and artists who are “accidentally” not invited or have to surrender their identities on the cloakroom and deny Israel as a way to be accepted,” the ambassador stated.
Israeli artists and teachers are those who most criticized the federal government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “But the other side doesn’t want to hear other opinions at all.”
