Despite stores being closed, Helen Connolly, chief executive officer, said New Look was “trying to the long run” with “confidence”, as a “main broad attraction style vacation spot which has been cherished by clients for over 50 years”.

In a statement, she said: “The mixture of a cohesive omnichannel mannequin, conveniently situated shops, and feel-good style at nice costs places New Look in a robust place to ship long-term and sustainable development.”

Discussing the re-structuring of the business model, a New Look spokesperson said earlier this year the company were adopting an “omni-channel” approach and that physical premises were still an “essential a part of our enterprise”, alongside the website and app.
