Two individuals have been hospitalised after a crash between a motorcyclist and a heavy items automobile.

The A1(M) in County Durham is closed in each instructions between J63 (Chester le Street) and J62 (Durham) as a result of “serious collision”, National Highways stated.

The crash occurred at 4.50pm. Traffic caught inside the closure was launched by 7.45pm.
