CHICAGO (AP) — The Department of Justice filed a lawsuit Monday towards Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker over new state legal guidelines geared toward defending immigrants at courthouses, hospitals and day cares.

Pritzker signed a set of legal guidelines earlier this month that ban civil arrests at and round courthouses statewide and require hospitals, day care facilities and public universities to have procedures for dealing with civil immigration operations and defending private data.
