Drivers on the M6 confronted site visitors woes on Christmas Eve after a crash introduced vehicles to a halt. The incident occurred on the M6 northbound between junctions J32 and J33.

Inrix, the site visitors monitoring service, mentioned earlier this afternoon: “All traffic being temporarily held and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound between J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange) and J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang)”. Traffic was later launched, however delays remained for a number of hours, as a number of lanes remained closed. Inrix wrote at roughly 5.30pm: “Long delays and partially blocked due to accident on M6 Northbound between J32 M55 (Broughton Interchange) and J33 A6 Preston Lancaster Road (Lancaster South / Garstang).” National Highways mentioned the delays had been attributable to an “overturned vehicle” on lane one.
