President Donald Trump bizarrely boasted that Europeans name him “daddy” throughout a speech on the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

The right-wing chief made the feedback after telling the group that he’s been coping with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin, each of whom he stated he believes “want to make a deal” amid ongoing talks for a Russia-Ukraine peace deal.

“But they’ve got to get that war stopped, because too many people are dying, needlessly dying,” he continued. “Too many souls are being lost. It’s the only reason I’m interested in doing it.”

Claiming that he’s been “helping” Europe and NATO, Trump then veered off matter, saying that “they loved me” up till he tried to annex Greenland — besides he incorrectly referred to Greenland as Iceland.

“They called me ‘Daddy,’ right? The last time? [A] very smart man said, ‘He’s our daddy. He’s running it,’” he added with out naming the person he was referring to. “I was, like, running it. I went from running it to being a terrible human being.”

Trump has been on a quest to regulate Greenland, sparking pushback from European leaders and allies who’ve harassed that the annexation of the territory would demolish NATO. In response to the dispute, Trump threatened final week to punish international locations that don’t assist his transfer to acquire Greenland with tariffs.

But Trump surprisingly walked again his tariff threats on Wednesday.

“Now what I’m asking for is a piece of ice, cold and poorly located that can play a vital role in world peace and world protection,” he stated.

Calling his want to acquire the European territory “a very small ask compared to what we have given them for many, many decades,” he went on to argue that “the problem with NATO” is the U.S. “will be there for them 100%, but I’m not sure that they’d be there for us if we gave them the call.”

“‘Gentlemen, we are being attacked. We’re under attack by such and such a nation,’” he stated mimicking a pretend name. “I know them all very well. I’m not sure that they’d be there. I know we’d be there for them. I don’t know that they would be there for us.”

NATO notably assisted the U.S. within the wake of Sept. 11 by invoking Article 5, which states that “an armed attack against one NATO member shall be considered an attack against them all.”

“So with all of the money we expend, with all the blood, sweat and tears, I don’t know that they’d be there for us,” he alleged. “They’re not there for us on Iceland. That I can tell you.”

He added: “I mean our stock market took the first dip yesterday because of Iceland. So Iceland’s already cost us a lot of money.”
