Political commentator Andy Williams and campaigner for a Global Britain, Aman Bhogal, locked horns on whether or not the UK advantages system is just too beneficiant – particularly to non-British residents – on GB News. On Sunday’s present hosted by Nana Akua, Bhogal urged mass deportations to deal with the migrant disaster, telling viewers: “People are simply here to take and take, and not be part of British culture.” However, a disagreeing Williams fired again: “That doesn’t really get to the nub of the problem, which is that there are about seven and a half million people on some form of Universal Credit. I think it’s really important that we don’t lay the blame for this problem at the door of migrants.”

Bhogal argued: “Why not? There are a million migrants.” Williams then pressured how he felt “the system is the problem”, not the migrants, as the controversy heated up.

“What right do people who were not born here have to British taxpayers’ money?” Bhogal requested in response.

Host Akua interjected: “If you are a British citizen, I don’t think you should be deported, but if you are not, then you should have got your citizenship.”

Heading again to Bhogal, he said: “If you are here as a foreigner and don’t want to be British, what on earth are you doing claiming British taxpayers’ money?”

An animated Williams then insisted the issue with the nation’s advantages system is how migrants are being demonised, however the different visitor urged it will be a “good idea to take away a million people claiming benefits”.

According to figures, greater than 1.3 million migrants had been claiming Universal Credit as of late 2025. Out of the 7.9 million individuals receiving Universal Credit final June, 83 per cent had been British or Irish nationals.

When Bhogal was requested if he agreed that the overwhelming majority of the issue doesn’t lie with migrants, he stated: “A good start would be to take away foreigners claiming British benefits.”

Williams’ mouth was extensive open, and he shook his head earlier than Akua said she agreed with Bhogal.

“I don’t think there are many countries in this world where you are a citizen of their country and are claiming benefits,” Akua claimed. “In fact, lots of countries would not give you anything. I don’t think [Williams] agrees with us…”
