A spokesperson for GMP stated: “At around 11.35pm last night (Thursday, February 6 2026), we were called to reports of a seriously injured man on Southwick Road in Northern Moor, Wythenshawe.

“Officers attended the scene and situated a person in his 20s, who sadly died on the scene.

“A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

“Investigations are ongoing.
