Less than one 12 months after claiming a record-shattering $167 million Powerball Lottery jackpot, a Kentucky man has now been hit with a 3rd arrest — this time on housebreaking and drug possession expenses.

James Farthing, a 51-year-old from Georgetown, bought his profitable ticket in April 2025, making historical past by garnering the biggest lottery prize ever awarded within the Bluegrass State. He shared his hundreds of thousands together with his mom.

Four days after his win, whereas toasting his life-altering success on a Florida seaside, he was arrested throughout a late-night altercation and accused of misdemeanor battery on a legislation enforcement officer. Body-cam footage obtained by LEX 18, a Kentucky information outlet, reveals Farthing kicking an officer within the face, making an attempt to flee and getting tased.

He pled responsible earlier this month and was sentenced to time served after a nine-day jail stint.

Late within the night on February 11, Scott County sheriff’s deputies have been despatched to a property on the town after a girl dialed 911, claiming armed individuals have been in her home. Police found a .380 caliber weapon in a dryer.

The lady instructed investigators that Farthing had picked her up from her Lexington abode for a prearranged assembly. He then allegedly tried to stress her into consuming a “gummy.”

Farthing allegedly instructed police that the lady “had been perfectly fine prior to her disappearance from the group,” and that he had been trying to find her when officers arrived on the scene. Legal proceedings within the case stay ongoing, and he’s scheduled for an April courtroom look.

On Friday, the Powerball winner was arrested for a 3rd time, based on the Fayette County Detention Center. He was charged with second-degree housebreaking and marijuana possession.

Shortly after his lottery victory, Farthing instructed an area information outlet: “I’ve caused a lot of stress on her [my mom]you know, I’ve made some bad decisions in life, and you know, God’s been good because I’ve kept my faith and done right, and something’s happened good for me.”
