Heavy snow and gale-force winds are forecast for northern elements of the nation, with climate warnings in place for Scotland, Northern Ireland, north Wales, and elements of northern England.

The Met Office has issued a “danger to life” amber wind warning for northern elements of England, southern Scotland and northwest Wales, the place gusts of as much as 70mph are anticipated. The warning is in place till 3am on Sunday.

A yellow wind warning is in power till 7am on Sunday for areas in North East England, North West England, South West Scotland, Lothian Borders, Strathclyde, Wales, and Yorkshire & Humber.

Storm Dave is forecast to convey winds of fifty to 60 mph to those areas, with gusts of 60 to 70 mph forecast in some areas.
