Multiple streets have been cordoned off in Liverpool metropolis centre as police swarm the Cavern Quarter. Cordons are at the moment in place on Button Street, Mathew Street, Victoria Street and a part of Whitechapel. Large sections of the Cavern Quarter had been sealed off by officers on Monday, April 6, with police tape additionally extending onto Whitechapel and alongside the HSBC financial institution.
The Liverpool Echo studies refuse collectors working within the metropolis centre had been turned away from the world by officers guarding the cordon. Merseyside Police has now confirmed a person was arrested after studies of a battle close to Clayton Square at round 4.45am, throughout which it was alleged one man threatened one other with a firearm. A 37-year-old man stays in custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm with no certificates. Police mentioned: “There is no suggestion a firearm was used and there are no reports of any injuries.” The man is at the moment in custody and to date, no firearm has been recovered and the investigation stays ongoing.
