Habitat Festival in Hamburg: Klein warns of anti-Semitism and criticizes the efficiency of Palestinian DJs | EUROtoday
The Federal Government’s Anti-Semitism Commissioner, Felix Klein, has criticized anti-Semitic statements within the cultural sector. “I see it with great concern that artists in the art and culture sector are using the stage to spread anti-Israel hatred and incitement in front of a large audience,” he advised the newspapers of the Funke media group (Saturday).
In this particular case, his considerations relate to the deliberate look of the Palestinian-born DJ Sama’ Abdulhadi on the Habitat Festival in Hamburg in July. On social media, she “classifies the massacre of October 7, 2023 as legitimate Palestinian resistance (under Hamas’s fighting term “Toufan Al Aqsa”).” The artist conveys “a highly polarizing, anti-Semitic worldview.”
