On July 15, Minister of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov opened a temporary modular settlement in the village of Makariv, Kyiv region.
“Today we open the eighth modular camp – in Makariv. I inspected the readiness. We are also working on the construction of 15 more modular camps in the de-occupied areas. Modular housing is temporary, care is not temporary!”, – emphasized Oleksiy Chernyshov.
According to the Minister, now the focus is exactly on de-occupied communities. It is now that communities need such modules for those who have been deprived of housing by the enemy. Chernyshov noted that the government is now actively working on medium- and long-term options to address housing needs and restore damaged housing stock in the de-occupied territories.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude to international partners and friends, in particular, the Government of Poland, who at such a difficult time for Ukraine “supports our refugees and join the accommodation of temporarily displaced persons in Ukraine”.
