Suella Braverman was probed over allegations she leaked sensitive details about the Northern Ireland Protocol, a report has claimed. The Home Secretary underwent the investigation in May after details of a high-level Cabinet meeting were made public.
Ms Braverman, who staged a short-lived bid to replace Boris Johnson as Tory leader and Prime Minister in the summer, was cleared following the probe.
According to the Sun on Sunday, Ms Braverman has been subject to three official Cabinet Office leak inquiries this year.
The Protocol probe, which saw several other Cabinet ministers undergo an investigation from the Propriety and Ethics team, did not find out who leaked the sensitive details.
However, a Whitehall insider alleged Ms Braverman was the main suspect after the leak promoted her pro-Brexit credentials.

The source told the Sun on Sunday: “All fingers pointed to Suella.”
No evidence was reportedly provided to substantiate the Whitehall insider’s claims.
Ms Braverman, who chaired the European Research Group from 2017 to 2018, was said to have approved scrapping large parts of the Northern Ireland Protocol back in May.
Sensitive legal advice about the Protocol was being discussed at a meeting which was chaired by then Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
A source close to the Home Secretary said: “These allegations are completely without basis.
“This leak was not down to the Attorney General or anyone working closely with her.”
A Cabinet Office spokesperson added: “We do not comment on alleged leak investigations.”
