‘I went to Jeremy Clarkson’s new pub – this was the large downside with the meals’ | UK | News | EUROtoday

A meals reviewer has given his verdict on Jeremy Clarkson’s new pub, The Farmer’s Dog, which opened final month.

TikTook content material creator Eating With Tod spent the day on the new pub to see if the foods and drinks matched as much as the hypesurrounding Clarkson’s newest enterprise.

He mentioned: “Firstly, we checked out the tent which houses a Diddly Squat farm shop, merch stores, and a butchery.

“And, after all, a bar that sells Hawkstone beer. We queued outdoors and it took precisely 11 minutes to get a beer.

“The beer was great. It was cold, light, not too hoppy, and went down a treat on a hot summer’s day.”

After this, Tod tried a burger from the van outdoors the pub referred to as the Farmer’s Puppy.

He continued: “They have a food van called the Farmer’s Puppy selling burgers, and everything on the farm is made with 100 percent British produce, which is amazing.

“The patty was seasoned, thick, juicy. The burger sauce was twangy and I like that buttery brush roll.

“However, £14 for a single burger? Now you know why he has a Lamborghini tractor.”

Tod then waited in an extended queue for the principle pub, the place he ordered bread with patte for starter and bangers and mash together with a pie for the principle.

He mentioned: “To start you can either have patte or soup. The patte kind of tastes how it looks, it is okay. Nothing special.

“For mains, we went for bangers and mash and the pie. The pie offered out in a short time…the pastry did style barely burnt however the meat was smooth and tender. It will not be dangerous.

“However, I did find the bangers and mash slightly underwhelming. The sausages were lukewarm, the mash wasn’t very buttery. As expected it was quite a rushed in and out service.

“The meals within the pub is fairly bang common. I’d undoubtedly come again right here for a pint. Would I queue two and a half hours? Definitely not!”

On Friday, Express.co.uk spoke to two big fans of Clarkson who visited the pub who have now said they will never return after waiting 30 minutes in the queue to get inside.

The man named Billy said: “It’s a really unusual pub. Very common, I used to be completely underwhelmed. It wasn’t simply me, a number of folks in line simply walked off livid as nicely. I undoubtedly is not going to be visiting once more, I’m furious.”

Others have been more positive about the pub.

A visitor posted this review online: “The menu is what you would possibly count on from pub and it didn’t disappoint. The high quality of components was wonderful and the hard-working employees have been so welcoming and attentive.

“Of course, the beer and cider were wonderful, chilled and thirst-quenching.”
