Autobiography: Fuss about slaps for youngsters – Aiwanger jumps to Gottschalk’s facet | EUROtoday

A passage about Thomas Gottschalk’s new e-book is circulating on-line through which the entertainer describes how he beat his kids – together with in entrance of an ice cream parlor. That arouses criticism. Even the Bavarian Economics Minister is getting concerned.

Just in time for the discharge of Thomas Gottschalk’s new e-book “Unfiltered”, a passage from his earlier e-book is making the rounds on social media. Even the Bavarian Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) intervenes within the dialogue.

It is concerning the description of “educational measures in public,” as Gottschalk writes. He names two episodes:

“When I smacked my son Roman in an intemperate manner because he dropped three scoops of vanilla ice cream in front of the ice cream counter, a stranger who had filmed the process threatened to expose me to the press as a bad father,” it’s stated about his son, who was born in 1982.

In the second case, he describes how he beats his different son, Tristan, who’s seven years youthful than him, in a retailer as a result of he was taking part in with a file participant: “I had to listen to serious accusations from my wife, because of course the little guy ratted me out to her, and My fingerprints stayed pretty well on his cheek.”

The confession will not be new. Because the excerpt, which “Bild” pre-printed 9 years in the past, comes from Gottschalk’s earlier e-book “Herbstblond”. However, it’s now circulating incorrectly as a passage from the present e-book. The moderator and meteorologist Jörg Kachelmann, amongst others, ensures this. He writes concerning the now 74-year-old Gottschalk:

“If he had been reported back then, he would be a convicted criminal today. But things turned out differently and today he has become an idol for stupid, old and white potatoes. They also liked to punch their children in the face.”

This leads to heated discussions on social media. Some customers condemn Gottschalk, others defend him. He lately stated in an interview with “Spiegel”: “I don’t regret the slap in the face that I received. They didn’t harm me.”

Politician Aiwanger apparently sees it equally. “Dear Mr. Kachelmann, please mild up your wooden range, make your self a pleasant potato soup and don’t be so nasty to Mr. Gottschalk. I wager you may really feel higher then?!” he writes at X – alluding to the fact that Kachelmann often appears as a critic of fine dust emissions from private fireplaces.

The situation has been clearly regulated legally since 2000: “Children have a right to a non-violent upbringing. “Corporal punishment, psychological injuries and other degrading measures are inadmissible,” the Civil Code has since stated. And doctors are also certain that physical punishment often causes long-term damage to children, such as causing or increasing behavioral problems.
