Days after an exhausting election cycle, Oprah Winfrey is being accused of accepting cash to help Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential marketing campaign.
The Washington Examiner revealed an article final week investigating the Harris marketing campaign’s spending. The conservative information outlet reported that Harris’ group paid upwards of $15 million for “event production,” together with $1 million paid to Winfrey’s manufacturing firm, Harpo Productions.
On social media, the Examiner’s findings began to tackle a lifetime of their very own, with many characterizing the cash as a payoff to Winfrey herself for endorsing the Democratic nominee.
Harpo Productions responded to these claims in an announcement to Variety, saying the marketing campaign paid $1 million for “production costs” for “Unite for America,” a live-streamed occasion that Harris held with Winfrey.
